An upmarket 24-hour gym has opened its doors for the first time in Gloucester.

Covering the first floor of the building housing TK Maxx in Northgate Street, Snap Fitness boats a wide range of equipment and courses for fitness fanatics after putting £1million into the renovations.

The ‘boutique-style’ franchise gym promises virtual group classes, Olympic level weight lifting platforms, self-generated treadmills, prowler runs and parachute runs.

“People can come in when they like with a pass that allows them into any of our gyms across the country.”

But the arrival of Snap Fitness and TK Maxx a few months before is hoped to create a revitalisation of the tired looking Northgate Street.

Mayor of Gloucester councillor Steve Morgan officially opened the gym by cutting the ribbon and said he was pleased to see the new venture in the city.

“I am delighted to open the new Snap Fitness gym. It’s great to see new businesses like this coming to Gloucester,” he said.

“This gym will provide a great place for people to exercise and get fit, and will be a good addition to the city’s economy.”

In the next few years Snap Fitness plans to open numerous chains throughout the UK.
